I’ve read that Self Assessment is not required until £150k p.a for 2023/24. My question is: I earn £100k p.a via PAYE. If I were to take a £1000 dividend this year (which is the allowance), would I need to register for self assessment or not? It seems like I wouldn’t, as this would be my only untaxed income, but I can’t find a definitive answer. Thanks

Hi,
In that case you would not need to register as your income is not over £150K for 2023/24.
You can check the criteria at:
Check if you need to send a Self Assessment tax return
Thank you.

Thanks, I looked at that link before posting, but that's for last year, not this year, and as such the income limit is set at £100k not £150k
