Hi, I came to UK on 6/7/2023. I stayed in Airbnb from 6/7/23 to 7/8/23, then rented an apartment from 7/8/23 until then. I am entitled to split year treatment. My question is I had a fixed deposit in Hong Kong started from 1/4/2023 matured on 1/10/2023, relative interest was credited to my account on 1/10/2023, should I apportion the interest income for tax filing in UK? If yes, should it counted from 6/7/2023 or 7/8/2023? Many thanks for your assistance

Hi YF Tsang,
The interest is taxable in the UK from the date you arrived in the UK. Any interest arising before that date should not be included.
Thank you.
