Hi, Can you claim tax relief for mileage and home office on self assessment? I have found where to enter charitable donations but not job expenses I am an employee but claim high income child benefit so have to do a self assessment (not knowingly I been PAYE incorrectly for past 2 tax years) I have drafted my SA but it is estimating I need to pay for all the child benefit, which is fair enough. However a lot of this will be offset by my job expenses and charitable donations.

Hi Gingerjaffa,
On your PAYE Employment page on your tax return, you can claim for mileage under 'Vouchers, credit cards, and excess mileage allowance'.
Working from Home Allowance can be claimed under 'Other expenses and Capital Allowances
Please see further help here:
Employment notes
Thank you.
