I received a distribution of surplus funds from the Teachers' Union in Hong Kong after the union's dissolution. I am wondering if this amount of surplus funds should be included in the foreign income and should be added into the "Dividends from foreign companies". Please, may I have your advise. Thank you.

It it was cash then it is other income. if paid as dvidends then you can show as dividends.
