Hello, we posted a self assessment return for my wife several days before October 31st 2024 which included only income on the foreign pages. A few days after the return was posted my wife's HMRC account was verified and she now has an online HMRC account. Is there any advantage to now filing the same return online? Does it create any issues if we do that or are the details of the paper return entered to her account by HMRC? Thank you.

Hi,
If the paper tax return has been logged as received then your wife will not be able to file online. The paper tax return will be processed by HMRC and once processed a calculation will be issued to your wife.
Thank you
