Do I need to register for self assessment or wait for a P800 letter for 2022/2023?

Hi, Last year I changed jobs and also received an unexpected bonus which has meant my income for the tax year 2022/2023 is over £100K. On the HMRC site it says that my income tax for 2022/2023 has not been calculated yet. Do I need to register for self assessment for 2022/2023 or wait for a P800 form to arrive in the post? Hi,

You should register for Self Assessment. Once the system tries to calculate your tax it will identify that you have Self Assessment criteria.
