I recently submitted my 2023/2024 self assessment as sole trader through tax calc. I can see now on my gov record the amount I now need to pay but the figure is different to the amount I was expecting - its less by the Class 2 NI amount of £179. Does this mean that I pay class 4 NI through the gov website as part of my self assessment liability but that somehow I have to pay the Class 2 NI in a separate way? I was expecting it to be all lumped together for payment and to be the same amount as shown on tax calc summary.

If you are liable to pay Class 2 NI and have registered for Self Employment, the Class 2 NI should be present in your calculation. To allow us to confirm that your calcualtion is correct, or
