Helllo, i am a British citizen since 2019 and my PPF (Public Provident Fund) matured in India and i requested for full withdrawl this year. The amount is credited in in India account and is not transferable to UK. I have never claimed any tax benefit on any contribution in UK and the portion of the amount is from the interest accrued over past 15 years. as this money is not taxable in India, i am not sure about the tax implications in UK. i am not allowed to get this money to UK ever (ring fenced accounts barring foreign remittance). is this amount in any way taxable in UK? [Total amount is approx £2300 ]

Hi singer7126,
As the rules of the country stop you from withdrawing it, it is not taxable.
Thank you.
