Hi - my employer is reducing my milage claim to 25p per mile this month advising I have done over 10k miles this year to date. They are stating that the year to date started on 1st March (as we are paid in arrears) NOT 5th April as per the standard tax year so this results in me crossing the 10k threshold a month early and thus losing out as I did not do over 10k miles the year prior. Should they be running if from the specific mileage travelled in that tax year, or can they pick?

Hi,

The tax year starts 6 April and finishes the 5 April the following year so would be the mileage between thoses dates.

Thank you.
