Hi all, Ryan here. I'm trying to figure out if this can be counted as an expense. I was born with a condition and took on a second job (self employed) to pay for surgery that wasn't available for the NHS. This surgery basically sorted out some major posture issues and pains I was having during working at my desk (I'm a programmer). The cost of the surgery was quite substantial. Is there info on finding out if this can be counted as an expense? Appreciate any input, Ryan.

Hi Ryan,
No this is not an allowable expense. Expenses have to be solely, necessairly and exclusively for the performance of your duties which the surgery is not.
Thank you.
