Hi, long story short I had a annual income this tax year of over £100,000 but less than £150,000. The calculator confusingly told me I had to file a tax return, and the self assessment form had a check box for £100,000 +. After filing it, I then read that for 2023/24 the threshold increased to £150,000, meaning I didn't actually have to file it after all. Will HMRC realise the mistake for me? Suppose I should get in touch on Monday in any case.

Hi Valentino,
The threshold for 2023/24 has been increased to £150,000 for Self Assessment criteria.
If you have registered in error then you can either complete the online criteria check and then send a submission to close if no criteria met.
