Does the tax due calculator automatically deduct the £1,000nallowance on Interest, if not where do I enter it? Regards Eddfromhudds

Yes the savings allowance is automatically taken into account on the calculation.

When I entered an interest amount it added it to my income and therefore attracted tax at that rate, is this a problem with the calculation? It is within the allowance for the tax band so I would not expect it to be taxed.

Hi,

The untaxed interest will be added to your Self Assessment calculation but if below the savings allowance then the savings allowance will be taken into account on the calculation.
