I recently received a letter informing me that I need to submit a self-assessment tax return for 2023/2024. I was self-employed in the 2022/2023 tax year but I am not for the 2023/2024 tax year as I am a student studying abroad. I tried to submit an application to cease self-employment but it was rejected as I gave my student address as evidence. The email advised me to update my address before resubmitting the form. However, as I am a student, my abroad address is not my main address, so I am unsure how to proceed. Should I input my main (home) address on the form? Is anyone able to advise me further? Thank you in advance!

Hi, I have tried repeatedly to contact the Self-Assessment Team to no avail. I have also filled in the form but have not heard anything back. Please could you advise me on what I should do next? Thank you in advance!
