Dear Sir / Madam, With regard to the Investment Fund of US bond, the Bond Fund paid me dividend monthly. The price of Bond Fund will be announced by the Fund Management company monthly. (1) Could I offset monthly dividend against the unrealized loss on the price of Bond Fund in each tax year? (2) Could I offset the realized loss on the price of Bond Fund against other investment (e.g. the dividend or capital gain on stock / bond or other investment fund of bond / stock) if I sell the Bond Fund and have a realized loss. Thanks. Alex

Hi,

The interest paid on commerical and government bonds, also know as the 'coupon', is taxable as income in the UK. Income cannot be used to offset losses on the price bond fund. Capital Gains losses can be set against other Capital Gains.

Thank you.
