I am a new immigrant and do not have any PAYE records. I earned over £10,000 interest income for 2023/24, I was told that I were requried to submit a self-assessment return, even though my annual income did not exceed the personal allowance threshold. I have registered online, but cannot find such return to fill. Can you help?

Hi,
When you registered for Self Assessment you should have received a Unique Tax Reference, UTR, and a notice to file a Self Assessment tax return. Once you have the UTR you can enrol to file the tax return online. If you have not yet received the UTR you will need to contact our Self Assessment team to review.

Thank you.

I got my UTR and started to file the self-assessment return for 2023/24. My only income for the year is foreign interest income, I could not find anywhere in the return which allow me to declare. Please help.

I have completed the SA106. Can I submit the PDF form online together with the electronic self-assessment for 2023/24?

Hi ,

If you submit your Self Assessment online then you can also submit the SA106 you do not need to include a PDF copy.

Thank you .
