Having moved to France in October 2022, what forms do I need to fill in for my self assessment covering April-September 2022? Is there a different form to reclaim UK tax already paid from October-December 2022 since it is now subject to French tax? Thanks!

I am still waiting for the SA100 to arrive. I phoned around 2 months ago to order the form. I have filled in P85 online and my account says that it is 'completed'. Do I still have to send SA109 if this has been completed? Thanks!

Hi,

If you met the criteria for Self Assessment before you left the UK, we would still require completion of the SA100 and SA109.

However if you were not within Self Assessment, the P85 is quite sufficient.

See link:

PAYE Manual   .

Thank you.

I completed my SA 100 and also sent a SA109 (including my wife) in November 2023. My wife and I moved to France in October 2022 and our pensions have been taxed in the UK since then. The update on my HMRC account says forms received or pending. We have to submit our next French tax forms in the next coupe of months. We are currently subject to tax in the UK and in France. Obviously, this makes our financial situation difficult. Can you tell me when this is likely to be resolved, please. When can we expect the tax from October 2023-present to be repaid and our pension companies to be informed that we are no longer to be taxed at source. Thank you for help.

I made a mistake in the last sentence of the previous post. It should read: When can we expect the tax from October 2022-present to be repaid and our pension companies to be informed that we are no longer to be taxed at source? Thanks
