I tried to pay my taxes via Direct Debit (one-off payment) but there has been no email confirmation and the direct debit hasn't appeared on my bank account. What do I do? Do I wait? Or try a different payment method? This same thing happened last year, And HMRC ended up taking the payment twice and the refund option didn't appear on my account until 4 months later.

Hi,
We can confirm if any direct debit payment has been received and, if not, discuss your options.

Hello, I have just checked and the money has come out twice. Despite confirming with both HMRC webchat and my bank that the Direct Debit didn't go through, it has now been charged twice. This situation is quite frustrating as the extra funds could be earning interest in my bank.
