On my 22/23 Tax Return my income (from PAYE ) was £9316 I also received £25k dividend payment Income tax due for 22/23 was £1727.77 I also had a payment on account (due 31st Jan 2024) for £400, bring my payment to £2,127.77 There is a 2nd payment on account, of £400, due 31st July I'm not doing my tax return for 23/24, where my employment situation has changed. PAYE Income was £37,338.03 (tax paid at source) and only £1k dividend I'm completing the Tax Return online, but I cannot see where (or how) I can: a) reclaim the £400 I paid on account b) remove the need to make a 2nd payment on account on 31st July Please help?

Hi Nicholas Cooperc,
If you do not meet the criteria for Self Assessment 2023/24 you can check online and send a submission to cancel the 2023/24 tax return which will cancel the payments on account and allow you to claim the repayment.
