* My tax liability for FY22-23 is ~£46,000 * I made a first payment for £25,000 to HMRC Shipley, on 29Jan24, which was duly received by HRMC on the same day and acknowledged as a credit on HMRC online * I made a 2nd, balancing payment of ~£21,000 on 31Jan24 (with the same beneficiary bank details). My bank confirmed the money left my account immediately (no payment blocks etc) and should have reached HMRC on the same day * Instead, as of today 5Feb24 (3 business days after the payment), HRMC is not displaying the 2nd balancing payment, is declaring that I have ~£21,000 overdue tax, and is accruing late payment interest * How can I get HMRC to acknowledge the 2nd payment, stop accruing late payment interest, and reverse the amount incorrectly calculated so far?

Hi pgvol,
It can take up to 7 working days to process and allocate the payment to your Self Assessment account.
Once allocated your statement will be updated to correct the interest charges.
Thank you.
