I am filling 2023 - 2024 Self Assessment and I received Child Benefit for 10 month's of the year, which I declared my wages is above £50k threshold. I informed HMRC and cancelled the benefit and paid back what I received. On the Self Assessment, I have ticked I received Child Benefit but changed the amount to Zero as I've paid back the money received. Is this correct as when I input the amount received £953.40, the calculator at the end of the assessment takes this off the amount I'm owed. I'm reading this as if I've paid back Child Benefit twice.

Any feedback please?

Hi,
If you cancelled the Child Benefit and paid back all the payments received for the 2023 to 2024 tax year, then you will not have to declare this on your Self Assessment return.
Thank you.
