If I make a one-off lump sum payment into my workplace salary sacrifice pension, can I avoid overpaying on my PAYE income tax? Is there some way to get my tax code changed or adjusted to reflect the payment?

Hi ,

Paying into a Salary Sacrifice pension scheme will reduce your initial gross pay.

If this means that the estimated pay used to calculate your tax code is higher than your pay will be after the lump sum payment,
contact us by webchat or phone via :

Income Tax: general enquiries

and we can update this estimated figure .

Thank you .
