I have Power of Attorney for a parent and tax is due to be paid. I have sent the necessary LPA forms to HMRC, the documents have been copied and the original forms returned in a timely manner. Well done. However the accompanying compliments slip says that the LPA documents have been passed onto another department (unnamed) and they will be in touch "shortly". One month later nothing has arrived. In a commercial world I would have hoped that a response would have been within a week, in regard to collection of taxes I would expect same timescales. Currently I am sitting on my hands , as there appears no way to chase a response, other than go to MoneyBox or MSE. Any ideas?
