I'm trying to resolve a significant overpayment caused by emergency PAYE codes with a new employer. The employer claims not to have provided my forecast income to HMRC (only actuals). It is also claimed backdated payments paid as a lump sum were reported correctly to HMRC in the sense they were described as covering a large period of time and not just one month. How can I determine the source of the data used by HMRC for my PAYE codes? Also, how can I see my PAYE code history when my online account only shows my current PAYE code and the most recent one previous to it? Thanks
