Please can I get some advice on how to reclaim some overpaid tax? I declared income over and above the annual allowance on the self assessment form for 2022/23 and therefore paid a large tax bill on that amount. I have recently received a revised Annual Allowance statement from the Pension authority which now means that I did not exceed the annual allowance after all.I have allready submitted my self assessment form for 2023/2024. How can I claim back the overpaid tax? Do I need to wait for next years self assessment and which section needs completing to claim the tax back? Thanks

Hi,
If you submitted your return online, you can go back in and amend the figures.
If done by paper, you will need to send a letter to:
HMRC,
PAYE & Self Assessment,
BX9 1AS
Thank you.
