Dear HMRC, I'm a Norwegian who got my UK visa in January 2023, and from February on, I lived in the UK most of the time. However, I worked remotely for a Norwegian company until 30. April 2023, which is also the date when I registered (in the Norwegian population register) as emigrated from Norway. All my salaries from the Norwegian company were fully taxed by the Norwegian tax authorities. I am now in the process of establishing myself as self-employed contractor and adviser in the UK, and I'm trying to figure out how to do my self assessment tax return for 2022-2023. The difficult part is to know how to handle the income from Norway. My questions are: 1. Should I include the income from Norway between 1. February 2023 and 30. April 2023 when I do the tax return (tax was paid in Norway)? 2. Is the income between 5. April 2022 and 31. January 2023 relevant at all (I didn't live in the UK).
