Retirement part way through tax year

I have retired 2 months into the 2023/24 year, and have submitted a form to deregister from self employment. How do I treat the 2 months of this year, will I be asked to submit a 2 month return when HMRC process the form? Or do I need to wait until the end of the 2023/24 year? It is worth noting that I am well under the tax threshold anyway.

If your gross trading income for those two months is above £1,000 you will be required to file the return. if it is less then you can request removal from Self Assessment.
