Direct Debit Payment Not Appearing On my records!

I completed my return. I set up and paid the ammount owed via Direct Debit I checked that it had been taken from my bank. (It Had) After recieving a letter this morning to log into my account to check my account it still showing as not paid this year and is still owing the ammount. I went back to my bank account to double check- yes definately taken out. Q. So why is the system saying ive not paid?

It can take up to 7 working days for your payment to appear on your Self Assessment statement.
If it has been over 7 days since you made your payment, please contact us here to allow us  to trace your payment.
