I conducted 2 pieces of paid work over the last financial year which are above the £1000 threshold. I do not regard myself as self employed and am not actively seeking work. Is this categorised as self employed work for the purposes of a tax return or is there another way to declare this on a tax return.

Hi ,

You would treat this as other earned income and as you are not treating it as self employment

you cannot claim  the trading allowance  .

Thank you .

Not HMRC...you use the words "paid work". This is therefore either employment or self employment. If not put through PAYE its self employment.
