If I had a refund of tax for the year ending April 2024 how do I work out what my payments on account will need to be for the new tax year to April 2025

Hi ,

When you submit your return, if your 23/24 calculation shows as overpaid, no Payments on Account will be calculated or due.

If your 23/24 calculation shows an amount owed for the year, each of your two 24/25 Payments on Account will then be calculated as exactly half of this amount owed.

See :  www.gov.uk/understand-self-assessment-bill/payments-on-account  .

Thank you .
