Hi HMRC, I am a UK citizen currently living abroad and have been offered a job back in the UK. My relocation expenses for myself and my family will be more than £8,000 (including agent fees for selling our house and shipping and travel expenses) and my prospective employer referenced the relocation costs benefit: https://www.gov.uk/expenses-and-benefits-relocation I have two questions, please 1) Were the employer to contribute £8,000 towards my relocation, would they be eligible for the benefits on the allowance given my circumstances above? 2) How would the employer calculate an adjusted annual salary for the first year (let's say for arguments sake a salary of £120,000 was being offered) such that their fully loaded costs (salary, tax, NIC) including the £8,000 benefit are the same as they would have been at the £120,000 amount without the benefit? Thank you, Andrew

Hi,

The employer should refer to below.

Expenses and benefits: relocation costs

They can also contact the employers team here.

Employers: general enquiries

Thank you.
