Dear HMRC team In February of 2024 I moved abroad hence for the 2023-24 tax year I qualify for "split year status" (was UK tax resident in the previous years), I have been comfortable with the online tax return but I struggle to find a way to signal online that I moved my tax residence abroad. There is one option to send both forms together through paper, although this should have happened before 31 Oct 2024. So I will have to submit my tax return online (and prefer online to paper). One option is to use a 3rd party website for this purpose. Is there an option to submit my online tax return + signal the residence change purely using the HMRC website? Many thanks for your help, TC1208

Hi,
You cannot use HMRC online service to include the residence section and you will therefore need to buy third party software. The whole return must be submitted together in the same format.
Thank you.
