Hi, I have been fully self-employed since the beginning of this tax year. I have just got a temporary job and my new employer is asking me to state what my situation is so that they use the right tax code for me. They're asking me to choose one of three statements (statement B doesn't apply to me so I am not including it here). I am not sure whether my self-employment counts as 'another job'. I haven't received any benefits, no Job Seeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, or State or Occupational Pension. Which statement should I choose: A "This is my first job since last 6 April and I have not been receiving taxable Job Seeker's Allowance, Employment and Support Allowance, taxable Incapacity Benefit, State or Occupational Pension." C "As well as this job, I have another job or receive State or Occupational Pension."

Hi,
When reviewing the three statements, A, B and C, you do not include your self employment, it is not relevant to your employer.
The statement is only interested in employments you have had since 6 April 2024. If this is your first since then, tick A.
Thank you.
