Hi team I recently got a letter from HMRC regarding to my self assessment. In the letter it states that I need to provide my National insurance number (NINO). I find it very confusing as I already have provided everything I need to provide, and it would be quite likely that they already have that information in the system. I have done my self assessment and already paid for all the tax need to be paid 4months ago. and suddenly I get this letter asking for this information. that's why I think all whole thing is very confusing as I thought everything is over and done with long ago and now I get a letter asking for such basic information. and I tried to call the number provided on the letter and the number is wrong. can't get through on the letter, I am suggested to fill a new form online, but it doesn't say which form. I am worried that if I do the self assessment all over again I may be asked to pay tax again. are there any possibility that this letter is actually not from HMRC? wing
