Hi I moved to UK in 2022 Apr and declared self assessment tax return 2022-2023 for overseas income (I don't have any work in UK), because of work, I reallocated to Dubai in Feb 2024 and I already submitted P85 form to declare of leaving UK, and also submitted the application to close self assessment. My question is : 1. Do I still need to submit 2023-24 tax return? 2. As I already prepaid tax for 2023-24 in 2022, will I get the refund if prepaid tax is more than 2023 taxable income if I need to submit 2023-24 tax return?

Hi,
  1. You can check if you need to submit a Self Assessment tax return here: Check if you need to send a Self Assessment tax return
  2. If you made payments on account for the 2023 to 2024 tax year and you submit a tax return and if the balance due is lower than the payments on account, then there will be a credit available for repayment.
Thank you.

Hi, After checking, I need to submit self assessment tax return for 2023-24, but want to ask further : 1. I already left UK since Feb 24 as mentioned, so how should I claim to waive 2024-25 payment on account when I filling 23-24 tax return?
