Hi, This is the first time I have completed a self assessment which I am now doing only because I am earning over £50k and have claimed Child Benefit so I need to pay about half of it back. It is for the period 6 April 2022 to 5 April 2023 After doing my self assessment the final screen is telling me the amount due is more than I thought! It's about £2250. I was expecting it to just be the amount of Child Benefit I had over claimed which is about £400. I've checked everything, e.g. medical, professional fees I pay to a professional body etc.. I wondered, does the amount due shown on the self assessment take into account the amount of tax I have paid (circa £11k) shown on the statement of account for that period? So once I submit it will it somehow recalibrate? Thank you,
