I have set up a payment plan and agreed to pay an upfront payment. I was expecting this payment to be taken directly from my account within 5 days but this still hasn’t been taken. Could you please advise whether I need to make this myself. Thanks

Hi, One of our clients has a payment plan with HMRC. On his payments on account he is due to pay around £2000 due 31st July of this year. Because he is on a payment plan, does he ignore this deadline, will he get a penalty if he doesn't pay this amount of money by 31st July? Thanks, Kind regards, Ilona

Hi ilona_threeboxes10,
If the plan established includes this amount, then no late payment penalty should be applied.

Hi Seamus,
If you check your online account once the payment is received it will show the balance the payment has been allocated against.
You can also contact HMRC to review.
You allow 5 working days for the paymnent to be received then contact HMRC here:
Self Assessment: general enquiries.
Thank you.

I also had a payment plan agreed but then I cannot find it on my account and am unable to set up a new one. I am checking everyday to see if the status changes. It would be useful to hear from the HMRC if this is normal.
