I have completed my self assessment and can see in my online portal that I have a return due to me of over £2000. I submitted my self assessment on the 9th January and the status of my due amount has been at 'Repayment Pending' since then. I phoned initially and was there was a security check which could take 6-7 weeks. I have telephoned a couple of times after that period and have been told on both occasions to 'wait until the end of the week'. It is now almost 3 months and still no sign of payment. I have phoned numerous times over the last 2 weeks and have been unsuccessful in reaching an agent. The phone lines eventually hang up after 60+ mins of waiting. How do i speak to someone to follow up on my overpayment due to me? Thanks.

Hi,

We would need to access your record to review the repayment.
You can contact HMRC at:

Self Assessment: general enquiries

If you select Ask HMRC online then you will have the option to webchat with an adviser.

Thank you.
