I work in a hybrid arrangement. Due to distance to the office and my global role with majority working with overseas colleagues, I work 90% or more from home. Trips to the office are either day trips or more usually 2 day trip with hotel stay. All associated costs are paid personally (fuel, food, hotel) as this is my preference to work remote with occasional visits. I have a desk and ability to work daily at the office but choose not to due to commute time (1h30 to 2h each way depending on traffic. My question when making my self-assessment is if I can claim tax relief on any of the expenses? I see info about mileage claims not being allowed but rarely anything about the hotel or meal element.
