Hi, Could I have some advice in that I lived in the Midlands but had taken a job in the surrounding Bristol area, the job itself was in various locations around Bristol, Bath, Somerset and so forth. It made sense to relocate for various reasons but couldn't do so immediately, I had rented accomodation to faciliate and avoid the very long travel that could be anything from 1 - 2 hours each way, the jobs themselves would vary in location from site to site, but ultimately in that time used the opportunity to secure the job position whilst aiming to relocate to the area from my previous address. My question therefore would be whether the air-bnb for some 4-5 months would be allowable to be tax deductable for that stint since the dust has settled and now permantely relocated. Appreciate any guidance.

Hi Anwar Shah,
The accommodation does not qualify for tax relief.  It was your choice to rent the property, rather than travel to / from your home.  Please have a look at the guidance on travel expenses at When travel qualifies for tax relief (490: Chapter 2)
Thank you.
