Seafarers earnings deduction 2 "employers"

I claim seafarer's earnings deduction, part way through this tax year my employer was taken over by another company so on paper I have 2 employers. Do I need to have a foreign port visit with both even though the takeover was done under TUPE rules and my job hasn't changed?
