I have a big problem with Universal Credit expenses. I am claiming UC from 5 months, every month I was on time providing UC with my income and expenses. After 5 months of claiming they found out that my expenses are incorect. I am working from home in which I have 4 bedrooms. I was following guidlines on their website and calculated my expenses. I included interest for my mortgage payment divided by 4 as I am using one room as an office, I was alaso using expenses for heating, electricity, broadband, insurance etc. They told me that I am not allowed to use all of them althoug information on their website says clearly that I can. They are willing to accept everything except my mortgage interest because it dose not say that clearly on their website that it can be included. Can someone give me definitive answer if this is an acceptable expenses or not? HMRC is ok with this as an expense for self employed business that based at home. I am a mortgage broker and most of my work is based at my office. Thanks for any help.
