Married to a non-uk citizen

We have recently married in Lithuania; my wife lives and works there. We have applied for a uk spouse visa and await the outcome. I am a UK citizen; I complete a self-assessment form each year. I can see that I need to update HMRC that my status has now changed. Is this the only action we need to take?
