Wishing a good day to you. There were advice notes published saying some WTC cases would stay open until the 2028/2029 tax year. That date has now been brought forward. However for people with complex needs including severe disability and suicidal plans there appears to be provision in the advice notes to extend WTC beyond the 2024/2025 tax year. What is the latest advice as of September 2024 on this matter? Is this advice likely to change as HMRC & UC still have not even sent everyone with single WTC claims the migration letter, never mind successfully supporting them in transferring off WTC to Pension Credits or UC. Thank you for hopefully giving a detailed reply with reference to UC Specialist Team Guidance note sheets.

Hi, we are  unable to comment on ‘UC Specialist Team Guidance note sheets’ as this publication  would appear to be a DWP publication and not HMRC.
All tax credit claims will end on 5 April 2025 and payments will cease.
Thank you.
