It has occurred to me that it would be sensible for someone from our organization to make contact with the HMRC to let them know that we are changing payroll systems and to ask them for some advice. The reason for this is that a large proportion of the employee population will have a change of Person_ID when they are paid on new system that we are implementing. This could possibly create confusion for the HMRC as they could make the assumption that we have had a large number of leavers and starters. They could in these circumstances invoke the new starter and Leaver processes involving unnecessary bureaucracy for the organizational staff when all that has happened is that staff have had a change in their Person_ID. Could you please confirm what is the best way to handle this. If we need to inform HMRC, what is the best way of doing this?
