I am having issues getting into my online account. I have lived in USA since 2007. I opened the online account back then but never really used it. Recently I have been talking on the phone to the pension dept because I will be eligible for state pension next year. I have just paid missing NICs to get to the maximum. I tried to go to my online account to track payments. I have my ID and password and can sign in, I get the code sent to my phone. I can fill in all my information on the next page, name, National insurance number etc. However then it says it needs more information for verification. Unfortunately I dont have any current UK ID, since I have left the country for so long. I have current USA docs although not a passport. I do have my birth certificate. Anyone had a similar problem and how did you solve the situation. How can I get access back to my account?

Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately I have already tried the online help. They can only help if you need to recover your ID and password. They transferred me to the tech dept but they couldn't help either. It seems that if I don't have any current UK ID then I can't use the online forum? Which means I will have to try to keep phoning with every problem and question etc. I know they are really busy so I hate to do that but that seems my only option. Unless someone else has a different solution.

Further to this is there anyway to do an online face to face verification. I have old UK driving licence and I have a birth certificate. I have all current US documents. I wondered if a face to face via phonechat is possible?
