My wife and I are currently eligible for free childcare hours and tax free childcare. My wife started maternity leave for our 2nd child in February which was due to end in Jan 2026. She was notified in March that she is going to be made redundant in April (along many other employees). We understand that her statutory maternity pay and my shared parental leave is protected. What protection is afforded in this case to the 15/30 hours free childcare hours and tax free childcare? Will we still be eligible for the free childcare hours and tax free childcare if she is on maternity leave and was made redundant?
