Cheque issued to Closed Company

Hello, We had a cheque repayment made to us for our business but we had closed it when the cheque was issued. It was issued in 2021 and i was unable to get a response from the telephone operator. Due to carers responsibility, I was unable to follow up. Can you please advise?
