Greetings. Long story short, my partner and I are on a joint UC claim with one of us working and the other seeking employment. For the last few years, the earnings are NOT being reported for two assessment periods and then on the third, it seems 3 APs worth are being reported at once either to HMRC or to UC. Now, I say “seems 3 APs worth” because more often than not, the numbers do not add up. This has led us to receiving two overpayments and then a nil award. It takes up to 2 weeks to get it corrected each time and due to the errors, we have arrears and thus repaying it bit by bit via deductions in UC. UC received the information from HMRC who received it from the employer. Employer payroll dept contacted some time ago and they say it is not them. Has anyone ever had this happen to them? If so, how did it get resolved if it has at all? Due to this happening, whenever we need to get the nil award corrected, the payment due to us from UC gets sent to debt management leaving us with nothing to live on/pay bills with for over a month.
