Hello, I live and work, and am a tax resident in France. My parents wish to send me 250,000 pounds after selling their business. Where do we need to declare this donation? Do you know how much I and they will be taxed? Thank you very much.

Hi,
As you are not resident in the UK you will need to check with the French tax authorities.
Thank you.

Hi, My parents residing in Bahrain with no UK assets, would like to send me money from their overseas account for meeting the maintenance costs of the house I recently purchased in the UK. My queries are as follows: 1. Will I be liable to pay tax for the money received into my UK current account, from my parents residing in Bahrain? 2. Is there a limit to the amount they can send to me ? 3. I am currently in the process of applying for citizenship in the UK, will receiving money from my parents in Bahrain cause any hindrance in the UK citizenship application process ? Thank you in advance.

Hi,
We can confirm that there are no Income Tax implications on the receipt of a cash gift unless the cash gift generates interest or dividends.
These would then potentially be subject to tax.
Thank you
