Company Submitted Incorrect Income.

I worked for a company that was taken over by another. I left this job just as this happened. I did not work for the company taking over but my income details must have been transferred to them and they have submitted this, as well as the company I did earn with. I have received a tax bill for income I did not receive. I have been told to contact the company (which took over) to submit an amended income but they ignore my emails and will not do so. What can I do?
